Is the problem specific to EverQuest for the Macintosh?

The following checklist will quickly isolate whether the problem is specific to EverQuest for the Macintosh. Typically, wrong or outdated drivers may be installed. Make sure you have the latest OS updates. To get the latest OS updates click the Apple menu, select System Preferences, select Software Update, click the "Check Now" button. This will take you to a dialog box where you can get the latest Mac OS updates.

1. If you have another video game that uses 3D audio, try it out and verify that its hardware acceleration is working. If you do not have a 3D audio game, there is a demo that comes with most 3D audio cards. This demo should indicate if you have the correct drivers installed. (However, there are some circumstances where the demo will still work even if you have the wrong driver)

No Sound in EverQuest

If you are not getting any sound in the game, double-click EverQuest, log-in, click on game options and make sure sound is checked.
